Plot Summary
The film follows deep-sea rescue diver Jonas Taylor (Jason Statham), who is drawn out of self-imposed exile to help a group of scientists.




 * The Crisis: An international underwater observation program's submersible is attacked by a massive, unidentified creature in the deepest part of the Pacific Ocean (the Mariana Trench), leaving the crew trapped.
 * The Threat: The crew of the research vessel Mana One soon discovers that the creature is a Megalodon (or "Meg"), a massive, prehistoric species of shark previously believed to be extinct for millions of years. This giant, 75-foot-long predator has been released from its deep-sea habitat.
