Plot Summary:

The film begins in 1979 in China's Kunlun mountains, where an explosion during a military and archaeological expedition uncovers bizarre fossils. This discovery leads to a deep mountain cavern and a mystical land inhabited by creatures, including fire bats and large Kaiju-like monsters.
